A purge, or purfication, will occur during the Resurrection since the Hero has survived "death." In this Resurrection, the Hero is transformed. Characteristics of their Ordinary self with the lessons they have learned are combined.

During his Resurrection, Siddhartha listens to the river, and the river reveals "interwoven and interlocked" voices, whose "goals, ...yearnings," and "...sorrows" were combined. Siddhartha did not hear one specific voice, or identity, anymore, instead, he heard "the whole, the unity," and the voices joined to create the word Om, perfection. His ability to lose his Self from the Samanas and his new ability to disregard identity are combined in this instance. Siddhartha also is transformed, as his ability to disregard identity is completely evolved.

What stage of enlightenment is Siddhartha on?

Siddhartha abandoned identity view, ascetic rituals, sensual desire, conceit, restlessness, ignorance, and ill will, bringing him definitely to non-returner, on the brink of becoming arahant. Siddhartha still possesses some doubt in Buddha, as he does not follow him, preventing him from becoming arahant.
