In Return with the Elixir, a final reward is earned by the Hero. The Hero then shares their final reward with others. This final reward could be a treasure, a potion, love, wisdom, or the experience of the journey. Return with the Elixir brings closure to the journey, restoring balance. This stage tends to complete the Hero's Journey Cycle: the story-line is resolved.
Finally, Siddhartha achieves his journey's purpose: enlightenment. Siddhartha is able to share this reward of becoming enlightened with Govinda. Without following the Illustrious One, Siddhartha is capable of becoming the Illustrious One, technically removing doubt of Buddha. When Govinda kissed Siddhartha on the forehead, "[he] knew, that the Perfect One smiled." This moment brings closure to Siddhartha's journey, as it displays the completion of Siddhartha's quest, and his story-line is resolved.
Siddhartha has reached arahant. All fetters have been abandoned definitely. His previous doubt in Buddha is destroyed as he becomes the Buddha.
